About the Workshop

Show Times:

  • July 24, 2026 - 07:30 PM

For over 40 years this celebrated program has allowed students to put their singing and dancing skills together in a review of popular musical numbers! Show Choir Workshop is the perfect blend of choral harmony and high-energy choreography.  Captivating audiences with its exhilarating blend of music, movement, and theatricality- it is music in motion, transforming traditional singing into a vibrant experience from the first note to the final curtain.  Students don’t just sing; they perform.  The Macomb Center’s unforgettable Show Choir Workshop where every voice is heard, every move matters, and every performance is an unforgettable journey.  The workshop concludes in a performance on the Macomb Center's main stage.

Classifications

At the Macomb Center we pride ourselves on offering Performing Arts experiences for students of different ability and experience levels. Our workshops are classified into three levels: Exploratory, Moderate and Intensive. Each level marks a progression in complexity of material covered in the workshop. These classifications are meant to serve as a guide in deciding if a particular workshop is right for your student. Please email artseducation@macomb.edu with any questions.

Intensive

Dedicated students with some prior experience is encouraged.  This level seeks to refine advanced techniques and challenge students to work in a professional setting with peers. These programs have rigorous daily schedules focusing on advanced technique, and performance quality, culminating in a ticketed performance. Significant time and energy will be invested by the student. Students will work with other highly motivated students. Intensive programs instill a professional work ethic, requiring students to handle fast-paced rehearsal schedules, manage their time effectively, and maintain accountability to the ensemble.

The prices above reflect the Early Bird Discount. Please be aware that starting May 2, prices will revert to the regular rate, which includes a $25 increase.
